We're all one family
I couldn't believe this article. When the hell are we going to stop destroying the environment for our own selfish development?! My sardonic sense of humour found this even more laughable since these cockatoos are going to be killed for a tree slaughter-house...
Every time I hear about the environment suffering I'm reminded of what a Bilinara woman once said to me "You see these leaves on the tree, on the ground - they your sisters; we all one family"

i don't know if you know of this commercial or not... but back in the 70s, i think, there was a commercial of a native indian in the u.s. showing garbage on the roads and talking about the environment and how we're destroying the environment. and at the end, he has a tear running down his face. i remembering crying when i saw that. it was so powerful. i agree w/ this Bilinara woman.... we are one family.
I've never heard of this advertisement before, but from what you've said the message must have been quite powerful. The only sad thing is that it's EXACTLY the same message now as it was in the late 70's.
Indigenous people here basically change the names, dates and pictures for campaigns because they are still fighting for EXACTLY the SAME rights as their forebears in the 60's and 70's.
So much for 'progressive' society huh? We can't seem to get that you can't eat money, and soon there'll be no more land.
P.S. After a quick look on your blog Cookie I see you're quite the chef.
If you know of any recipes for money, please let us know!
i love to cook! but... don't know of any recipes for money.
yes, pretty soon there will be no land left. i know they're trying their hardest to get rid of all of it here in bahrain!
